ADULT Auditions and Performance Details (scroll down for Youth info!)

Facetime Theatre is now taking submissions for our Cabaret Festival, running the weekend of February 11-13, 2022.  This festival is an opportunity for you to perform music that you’ve been working on or that you may never get to perform within a show or perhaps test out a little of that cabaret you’ve been working on for the last (insert period of time here…).  This event is always a huge success as well as fun, casual, and low maintenance!

Below you will find audition and performance details.  This year’s directors will be Katie McGrier and Lisa Starczewski. If you have any questions, you can email Katie McGrier at Auditions.Facetime@gmail.com.

Performance Details

  • Each show will be performed by a different group of singers.
  • Each singer will be slotted for a 15-20 minute set on their performance date. The allotted time must   include the music as well as the banter.  There will be five to six performers each show. The expectation is that your set will include three (3) numbers, although if each is relatively short, you can request to perform a 4th song.
  • If you would like to do a duet set with one other person and would like more than one 15-20 minute time slot, we suggest each of you submitting as separate performers and then you may request back to back performance slots so you can weave your sets together.  If you want to perform as a trio, and want more than one 15-20 minute slot, you may request a double slot as well.  It is not guaranteed that you will be approved for extra time as it will depend on how many performers are cast.
  • You will be required to rehearse one time with the accompanist ($15 rehearsal fee) and possibly an added “dress rehearsal”/sound check at the theatre (date TBD) the week before.  You may also request an extra rehearsal for an added rehearsal fee.  More information will be given about rehearsals after casting.
  • We request that you bring in approximately 10 guests to the show, because it’s always better to perform for a nice, big audience!

Audition Details

Auditions for Cabaret Festival 2022 will be submitted by video, due by Sunday, January 2, 2022.  Please fill out the audition form below AND separately email your video to Auditions.Facetime@gmail.com.

Please prepare a song that you care about and feel shows off your vocal ability best and plan to tell us a little about the song or a short story pertaining to it. It does not necessarily have to be one that you would perform in the show.  We are looking for strong vocals, personality, and honesty.  Cabarets are an opportunity to be yourself instead of a character, so show us YOU!

YOUTH Auditions and Performance Details

Facetime Theatre is excited to announce auditions for the youth performance in our annual Cabaret Festival weekend, February 11-13, 2022!  This is a great opportunity for young performers who want to sing songs that they may not normally get to do in front of an audience. This year’s Cabaret Festival will be directed by Katie McGrier and Lisa Starczewski.

If cast, each performer will get 10 minutes to perform 2-3 songs (depending on length) of their choice (to be approved by the directors ahead of time) and get some coaching on how to choose the right type of songs and introduce them in a style fit for a cabaret. Each performer must limit their performance (music and banter) to the 10-minute allotted time.

Youth performance date:

Saturday, February 12, 2022- Time TBD

Auditions for Cabaret Festival 2022 will be submitted by video, due by Sunday, January 2, 2022.  Please fill out the audition form below AND separately email your video to Auditions.Facetime@gmail.com.

Auditions are open to young, seasoned singers between the ages of 11-18.

A maximum of twelve performers will be selected to participate in the cabaret.

Please prepare an entire song that showcases your personality and vocal abilities.

It does not have to be one that you would want to perform in the cabaret.

Requirements, if you are cast:

  • Try to bring in 8 guests to the show
  • Submit your song choices by the deadline set by the directors in order to avoid song overlap between performers.  Song choices are on a first come, first serve basis.  Submissions must include the approximate length of each song.
  • Sign up for at least one of the rehearsal times (TBA) with the accompanist and director (there will be a $10 fee per rehearsal paid to the accompanist by the performer)
  • Attend a “dress rehearsal” in the week leading up to the performance (date TBA).  Rehearsal dates will be given after casting.
