The Facetime Theatre Summer Stage Program is a three-week summer camp experience culminating in the performance of a full-length Broadway musical. Students will perform the musical with full sets & costumes, orchestra, and choreography.

Facetime’s Summer Stage program is one-of-a-kind in this area. Students work in groups, with college-age interns, who mentor them throughout the program. Facetime brings in highly experienced instructors to work with the summer stage students. Throughout the program, students receive focused instruction and develop the core skills necessary to achieve excellence in stage performance. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, creativity, and fun! The instructors focus on acting, vocal instruction, choreography, stage combat, makeup, costuming, set construction – all aspects of production. After just two weeks together, the students begin to rehearse the show with a full orchestra and in less than three weeks, the show opens.

Kaleidoscope Performing Arts CenterFamily and friends will see the results of the students’ work during public performances of the musical at Ursinus College’s Lenfest Theatre at the conclusion of each session. Parents and audiences are continually astounded by the quality of the Facetime summer stage productions – we have record repeat attendance – because the experience is so extraordinary!

Students entering the fourth grade and older are welcome to participate regardless of past experience.

SESSION I – My Fair Lady: July 3 to 20 (closed July 4)

In this beloved musical, pompous phonetics professor Henry Higgins is so sure of his abilities that he takes it upon himself to transform a Cockney working-class girl into someone who can pass for a cultured member of high society. His subject turns out to be the lovely Eliza Doolittle, who agrees to speech lessons to improve her job prospects. Higgins and Eliza clash, then form an unlikely bond — one that is threatened by an aristocratic suitor.
