Auditions for Little Shop of Horrors will be held at Facetime Theatre (400 Franklin Ave. Suite 109, Phoenixville) on Friday, May 17 at 6:30 pm and Saturday, May 18 at 10 am.  Callbacks for select roles will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 6 pm

We are seeking excellent singers/actors/movers age 16+ for ALL ROLES. 

Show dates: September 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 at 7:30pm, and September 15, 22 at 2:00pm

Read through/First Rehearsal will be held on Sunday, June 2 at 7pm

Rehearsals will generally be held on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.  

Tech week will be September 7-12 (with at least one night off).

You will not be called to every rehearsal.  

Please prepare 32 bars from an appropriate musical that best demonstrates your vocal abilities and is in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist. You may be asked to sing scales so that the Musical Director can confirm your vocal range. Cold readings MAY be presented at time of audition. Dance evaluation will occur at call back auditions, if at all.

If you are called back for Seymour, please be familiar with the song “Grow For Me” If you are called back for Audrey please be familiar with the song “Somewhere That’s Green”. If you are called back for Orin please be familiar with the song “Dentist”. If you are called back for Mushnik, please be familiar with the song “Ya Never Know”. If you are called back for Crystal, Ronnette, or Chiffon, please be familiar with the song “Skid Row”. Please note that characterization is an important part of the vocal audition.

Seymour Krelborn
An insecure, put-upon florist’s clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills. He becomes the story’s hero.

Audrey
Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour’s life. She has poor self-worth and education, but good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor, and shows admirable heart and concern for those in her life.

Mr. Mushnik
The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour’s nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative but also demonstrates some real moments of humanity and care for others.

Orin Scrivello
An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey’s abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour.

The Plant (Audrey II)/Voice Of The Plant
May be a puppet, may be an actor, may be a combination of the two. An anthropomorphic cross between a Venus flytrap and an avocado, the plant has an appetite for human flesh that is appeased by Seymour. If applicable, puppeteer doubles as other sizes of the plant. If a puppet is used, an actor/vocalist will be located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart ‘villain.’ A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best – ALL voice parts will be considered for this role.
